Craftsmanship and Our Process

At Maison Bespoke, craftsmanship is understood as a sequence of considered decisions. From proportion and material to carving, upholstery and finish, every detail is reviewed in relation to the piece as a whole.

Our furniture is produced with specialist manufacturing partners and skilled craftspeople in and around Jaipur, India. The precise techniques and materials depend on the individual design and are confirmed in the product information or written quotation.

1. Design and specification

Each order begins with the selected product design and the customer’s requirements. We confirm the dimensions, finish, fabric, headboard height, quantity, delivery destination and other relevant details before production. The underlying product design remains unchanged unless Maison Bespoke agrees otherwise in writing.

2. Material selection

Materials are selected according to the structure, scale and intended finish of the piece. Depending on the product, confirmed timber options may include mango wood, teak or oak. Upholstery and finish options are agreed individually. Not every material or finish is available for every design.

3. Shaping, joinery and carving

Components are shaped and assembled according to the approved specification. Where a design includes carved detail, the carving is developed in relation to the proportions and character of that particular piece. Product-specific construction, joinery and carving claims are confirmed before publication or order acceptance.

4. Upholstery and surface finishing

For upholstered designs, the chosen fabric and upholstery treatment are applied according to the confirmed specification. Wooden surfaces may be stained, painted or hand-finished depending on the product. Customer-supplied fabric can be considered, subject to suitability, required quantity and written approval.

5. Review during production

Progress photographs or updates are provided during production. Each piece is reviewed against the approved specification, with attention to dimensions, visible details, finish and overall presentation. Natural materials and handmade processes can create subtle variations in colour, grain, texture and detail; these variations are part of the character of the work rather than evidence of mass production.

6. Final inspection and packaging

Before dispatch, the completed piece is inspected and prepared for transport. Packaging is selected according to the product’s size and weight and may include cardboard and MDF protection. Packaging evidence is provided before the final balance becomes due.

7. Delivery and life at home

Furniture may arrive partially assembled. The customer is responsible for assembly and suitable delivery access. Product-specific inclusions, hardware, tools and assembly instructions are confirmed for each item and quotation.

Made for the individual piece

Craftsmanship information should be specific, not generic. As the final catalogue is completed, every product page will identify its confirmed material, construction, finish, customisation options and relevant making techniques.
